About
Well Read is a Columbus, Ohio based “lo-fi indie synthwave shoegaze” band fronted by creative visionary and lead singer Seth Tew. The band’s sound is characterized by nostalgic synths and ambient sounds that add texture underneath Seth’s introspective and personal lyrics. Well Read is supported by distorted guitars played by Toby French, grounding bass from Jacob Harris, and expressive drumming by Eric Trent. Their debut EP "Sink To The Curb" released in August of 2022 and features the songs 'Daysleep' and 'Cul de Sac'. The band encapsulates the feeling of intimacy through the use of textured noises. Listeners hear cans being opened, doors being closed, and muffled voices which give a glimpse into the recording room in a manner that feels much bigger than the sum of its individual parts. Beloved by late sleepers and suburban dreamers, Well Read is a staple of the local Ohio music scene, who continue to extend their reach further and further with every new release.
