Tony (Guitar), Charles (Guitar) and Ryan (Vocals) were regular students at Western Michigan University during this time-period, a not too insignificant detail when considering the band’s brief activity. Vine’s final live performance occurred in August of 1993, opening for Detroit’s Big Chief at Kalamazoo’s Club Soda. Several of Vine’s members continued to be involved with music after Vine’s dissolution—Ryan (Broken Hearts Are Blue), Greg (Space Team Electra), Jake (Mule) and Charles (Jupiter Hearts). Vine toured twice, both times during Western Michigan University’s Spring Break. Gigs were booked in State College, PA, Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, Westfield, NJ, and Morgantown WV. They were fortunate enough to play with some notable and esteemed bands that included The Laughing Hyenas, Born Against, Big Chief, Poster Children, Current, Grey House, Native Nod, Junction, and Lincoln.
