Viewfinders

About

Founding members Arily (lead vocals, keys) and Alex (lead guitar, vocals) embarked on the long and perilous search for bandmates in fall of 2018. After cycling through various other instrumentalists, the two eventually encountered Ryan Smith (drums) and Ryan Self (bass), thus forming the ensemble that is known today as Viewfinders. Together, the four musicians fuse together a wide variety of influences ranging from dreampop and jangle rock to classical music and opera. Their carefully crafted songs feature swirling melodies, haunting lyrics, and psychedelic soundcapes, all of which create a dreamy texture they call “lucid dreampop.” The name “Viewfinders” is inspired by lead vocalist Arily’s interest in photography. As Viewfinders, we offer you our narrow little perception of the world. We hope it is as pleasing to your eyes (and ears) as it is to ours.
