Velvet Warfield

About

The idea for Velvet Warfield started in 2017 when two young boys from Forsyth, MT started playing really horrendous music together. Those two boys were Jackson Maciag and Preston McGregor. At the time, Preston was nine years old and Jackson was twelve. Now in 2025, Jackson has graduated high school and moved all the way across Montana while Preston is stuck in Forsyth. Their self-titled debut album was written and recorded with minimal quality experience in the privacy of Jackson's bedroom where nobody could bother them while they were trying to make music that was somewhat listenable. Their music is heavily influenced by The Beatles and life experiences that the boys have shared in their seemingly short time together. In June of 2023, Velvet Warfield released their first single, Evolution. That single was followed by Old Highway 10, their most popular song, in July, and later, Velvet Warfield's debut album was released that same month. The album was well received locally. On Halloween of 2023, Velvet Warfield released yet another single, Dead Already, along with a cover of The Velvet Underground's "Pale Blue Eyes." On January 7, 2024, the duo released an experimental EP titled "LANDMINE". It was a project that they had been working on since before writing began for their debut album. The boys were featured on a KTVQ "Positively Montana" news segment in January 2024. Velvet Warfield's second album, You Ran Me Over With Your Eyes, came out in March of 2024.
