About
woodland grunge from the woods of lowell... fronted by samantha hartsel, featuring the lush atmospheric guitar of rick martel, with heavy hitting drums and massive 90s-inspired bass, the massachusetts quartet brings rich and heartfelt lyrics with grit and stamina for energetic live shows, ensconced in vegetation from forest floors... noted for their fuzzed-out distorted guitars, paired with a plant-filled stage at boston calling in 2024 opening for Chappell Roan, TTT continues to play out into 2025, with their latest single 'SHRINE,' mixed by martel. hartsel's dreamy yet forceful vocals, paired with her angsty sludge guitar, have been compared to the likes of PJ Harvey and St. Vincent, while the band's alternative genre-bending sound has been compared to their influences, The Smashing Pumpkins and Hole... TTT was nominated for the 2024 boston music awards' "rock act of the year" as well as "song of the year," for their single "INTOLERABLE." their 2022 LP "YOU'RE SORRY MORE" was named album of the year by the indie music blog "if it's too loud." they were also semi-finalists in the 2023 boston rock n' roll rumble. the boston globe has called TTT's music "ethereal art rock," and vanyaland labeled the band one of the best acts at 2024's boston calling festival: "lowell isn’t exactly famous for its flora, but you wouldn’t know it from the way TTT (performed)."
