Typhoon

About

Over the past 6 years, Typhoon has been experimenting with different styles of hip-hop as his music taste continues to evolve. Drawing from his roots in boom-bap 90’s hip-hop, as well as more his modern influences, Typhoon bridges the gap between what has been and what is to come. Typhoon was born and raised in the Bay Area, but moved out to Denver for college in 2022. Here is where he found his community of like-minded artists which he performs and collaborates with regularly. An example being Typhoon’s track, It’s All Love (In the Place to Be), with Spellbinder Reggae, which celebrates Denver’s weekly open mic known as Beats Bodega, which was pioneered by the revered producer, Face Defeat. Typhoon is known for his motivating, introspective lyrics and stubbornly catchy hooks. In his songs, he explores the true nature of the self and often touches on the absurdity of life in the 21st Century. In a live setting, Typhoon can be seen frequently tearing down house parties around The University of Denver with his band of local Denver musicians . Together they make Typhoon & The Gale Force Winds.
