Living, writing and recording in Belém, Brazil, Twin Thompson grew up in the Seattle music scene. He abandoned high school in his junior year because the education system failed to recognize his independent music career as “art” and carried on as a bassist, recording engineer and FOH engineer working with local artists and some well-known artists like the Gin Blossoms, R.E.M., Soundgarden, Matthew Sweet, Hater and Alice in Chains. For a few years, Twin resurfaced in the US as the bassist for nationally touring tribute bands covering Joy Division, New Order and The Smiths – three of his influences. Twin began recording demos in 2017. He amassed a catalog of carefully crafted songs and was twice invited to an intimate international songwriting conference. In 2019 Twin met producer Aaron Wagner (Nashville) and they immediately had a rapport. Aaron calls Twin, “The most interesting person I have ever met.” Around this same time, Twin traveled to Brazil and fell in love with Belém. His first indie-pop single “All the Girls” was released on July 26, 2024. More singles are in production and a second single, Luminosity will be released later this year.
