Tower Rats
Fresno, California, United States
About
Tower Rats emerged from the shadows (and neon) of Fresno’s Tower District in 2022, fusing melodic indie punk with decades of DIY grit. With deep roots in the Fresno and broader central California music scene, the members bring a raw, lived-in sound that nods to lived experiences and metaphoric analogy alike. Influenced by Jawbreaker to Pup; Built To Spill to History Invades; Meshuggah to Propagandhi —along with the weird, vibrant energy of Tower District itself—Tower Rats make music that’s urgent, honest, loud, and trippy in all the right ways. Their first release, Studio 9 Demo, was self-produced by Jackie Bootstraps and Nick Kennedy and dropped across spring and summer 2023. The band’s next single, “I Aim to Please,” releases May 2025 and marks a new chapter for this seasoned but hungry crew. In just a short time, Tower Rats have shared stages with Agent Orange, Marky Ramone, Archer Oh, and The Band Ice Cream, as well as Fresno hometown favorites like Sleepover Disaster, Brujoz, Puppet, and Dirty Limbs. Whether you’re shouting along up front or nodding in the back, there’s a place for you at a Tower Rats show. Tower Rats is: Jackie Bootstraps – Guitar, Vocals Nick Kennedy – Guitar, Vocals Ken Cruz – Bass, Vocals Jesse Kennedy – Drums
