Tinnarose
Austin, Texas, United States
About
Austin’s Tinnarose fashions psych folk rock with vintage roots; blending elements of indie rock with a homage to 70s singer-songwriter virtuosity. Tinnarose is Devon McDermott and Drew Schlegel, with new Richmond-based members Logan Davis (J Roddy Walston & The Business) on guitar, and Tori Hovator (OPIN, White Laces, Magnus Lush) on keyboards. The band formed in Austin, TX in 2014 and released a self-titled debut later that year on Nine Mile Records. Their 2016 record, My Pleasure Has Returned, received acclaim for it’s inventive, youthful sound --rooted in modern nostalgia. Their latest release, "FOGGY" was recorded by Richmond's Adrian Olsen (Dr. Dog, Natalie Prass, Matthew E. White) at Montrose Studios, and is an empowering song about the experience of coming through chronic depression. When we’re in a low place it can feel like there’s a fog surrounding the mind. The hardest part is gaining perspective when you can’t see past arms reach. Foggy is about the struggle of busting through to clear vision and gaining the larger perspective back.
