Them Damn Dogs

About

In the spring of 2013 Jerome met with drummer Brandon Holmes and bassist Chris Salib to form Them Damn Dogs. The concept of the band started by imagining what the sounds of 50’s and 60’s rock n roll would sound like if they came out in modern times. Combining 60’s rock, 70’s punk, 90’s alternative, and 00’s indie, TDD created a sound all their own. In 2015 they self recorded and released their debut album Let Loose. Soon after, guitarist Russ Savage made his way into the group as lead guitarist. In 2021’s Unpoetic Flavor, The Dog’s second self-released album was released. The album combined indie rock, new wave, and surf and had a higher budget and higher sound quality compared to their debut. With songs like "Memories", "Any Day", and "Moonlight". The biggest stand out from the album was their second single “I Wish I Was Dead”, a simple traditional sounding song about heartache and the pain of losing someone special. Over the past few years TDD has been working hard on creating new music, and now in 2025 they are set to release a new single on May 13th. “Weirdo” is the new lead single for the Dogs this year. It’s a hard power pop punk anthem that draws inspiration from 90’s pop punk sweethearts like Green Day, blink-182, and Weezer, about the feeling of isolation one can feel by being a little weirder than usual. The other song, “Shipwreck” is a psychedelic indie pop vibe about the forces pulling the strings of this political world and how the media is driving people apart.
