The Soundscapes
São Paulo, SP, Brazil
About
The Soundscapes are Raphael Carvalho on drums, Marco Vianna on bass, Guilherme Braga on lead guitar and Rodrigo Carvalho on vocals and rhythm guitar. Raphael and Rodrigo Carvalho started playing as The Soundscapes in NYC/ 2006, during their time living in the city. Their debut album, Freestyle Family, was produced by now Grammy winning engineer and producer John Davis and released in 2008 by Brooklyn record label B N S Sessions. Back to São Paulo from their period in the U.S.A., the siblings introduced Brazilian audiences to their live shows and were soon joined by friends Gui and Marco. Producer Edu Xty and photographer Oswaldo Corneti also became part of the pack and in 2014 the band put out their sophomore release, A Lifetime A Minute, through Brazilian label Balaclava Records and kept their steady routine of gigs, which had been The Soundscapes base activity since their beginnings, up until 2016. After a two-year pause, the group reconvened at Sonido Studios in São Paulo to revisit their catalogue and jam new sounds. On Christmas Eve 2020 the band premiered a new single and music video on their IGTV and YouTube channels. The Soundscapes posted another new single and music video on January 1st, 2021. They are now preparing these two new singles for Spotify and online distribution. More standalone singles from the band are aligned for release in 2021 and a new full length album is currently in the making.
