About
The Slow Scare consists of Anna Haaning alias Baby Bitter and Frederik Ejdrup alias Deadly Fred, who started working together in 2019 after meeting online and connecting over a mutual fascination of duality, which they have since spent each and every day exploring through their music. American music blogger, Robb Duncer Curtius at American Pancake, said the following about the band's debut single: “(...) The Slow Scare is not only appropriate for the season but hard to pin down, blending genres, tones and textures and I love that. Vocalist/bassist Anna Haaning's vocal aesthetic simmers in drink of dreamy goth pop, darkwave places and Frederik Ejdrup’s slinky guitar work, a blend of surf rock, spaghetti westerns, psychobilly all through a punk filter makes me think of a crushing together of Duane Eddy, Billy Zoom (X), Matt Bellamy (Muse), Link Wray and The Reverend Horton Heat (Jim Heath). Anna and Frederik's counter poised sounds give "Scream (All You Want)" an alt rock sound that screams post punk and cajoles witch punk on the very edges”. In December 2021 they released their debut album "In Purple & Blue", produced by Deadly Fred, mastered by Brian Lucey and mixed by Joar Sylvan, Christian Ki & Deadly Fred. They toured their native country in 2022 supporting the legendary Danish rock band Psyched Up Janis led by Sune Rose Wagner of The Raveonettes. Later that year, the duo disbanded and started new individual artistic endeavors.
