About
The Plastic Cherries began as the psych-pop brainchild of SLC Lovers On The Run, Shelby & Joe Maddock. With pianist Natalie Hamilton, bassist Stephen Cox, and drummer Wayne Burdick, they have become one of the scene’s most beloved rock bands, joining festivals and touring on a theatrical high-energy stage presence. After dreaming up a lo-fi, tape-recorded sonic universe on their first album Sunshine, they expanded into high concept glam pastiche for its sequel, The Plastic Cherries On The Moon. Their third album, “Pure Danger,” promises to pull from broad influences, ranging from AC/DC to LCD Soundsystem, to synthesize the Cherries’ pop art approach to rock. Their new single, Twister, combines riff rock with classical piano and a motorik beat, hinting at the eclecticism to come. Self-recorded and engineered by bassist Stephen Cox. “The Plastic Cherries are mesmerizing. They will take you back to the future, and to a time beyond – where rock has had a meaningful pop resurgence and everything feels new again.” - Provo Music Magazine
