About

The Moonlight Years are a six-piece band bringing a fresh, yet nostalgic sound to the West Coast psych-rock scene. Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, their music is heavily inspired by the sixties. The instrumentation is similar to the likes of Tame Impala, with harmonies resembling that of The Byrds. Renowned for their captivating performances and characterized by unparalleled dynamics - their boundless energy is accompanied by visually striking aesthetics. The band was formed in 2019 by longtime local musicians Randy Kramer (Hallow Moon), Etienne Tremblay (of the North Country Collective Label), Nick Colebrook, Daryl Lieffering, Miguel Hurtado Alcala and Carlos Hernandez. The Moonlight Years have made a strong impact in their hometown, opening for notable acts such as Temples and Dead Ghost. Their first single Forest Thumping, written by Kramer, came out November 2021 followed by Tremblay’s Why’d She Do That. Their recently released self-titled album jangles old soul driven tones inside a percussive capsule flown somewhere between space and the listener’s deepest dream. Kramer and Tremblay unite to produce all of the group's original work. Randy’s background in garage rock balanced with Etienne’s love for folk and country transcends their sound. The undeniable chemistry they share is palpable. Stay tuned for everything The Moonlight Years have to deliver, as they are certainly one to watch. themoonlightyears@gmail.com
