About

The Makers Out is an art rock project rooted in the tallgrass prairie and filtered through the soul of Tulsa. Led by songwriter and producer Scott Bell (vocals, lyrics, guitar), the music is both spiritual and cinematic—crafted not on command, but received like transmissions from somewhere far below. “I don’t write songs so much as wait for them to write themselves through me,” says Bell. After years behind the curtain—producing records, running stages for thousands, touring with Julianna Barwick, even opening for Sigur Rós—Bell steps into the spotlight with the debut LP BLOODLINES/HOPE, a genre-blurring ceremony of sound. Backed by an all-star lineup including Daniel Goodwin (Kevin Morby), John Fulbright (Turnpike Troubadours), Jake Lynn (Wyatt Flores), Mat Maxwell (Luke Combs), and Chris Combs (COMBSY), the album weaves ancestral memory, land reverence, and flower ritual into lush, immersive sonic textures. Lead single “Holy Water” earned national U.S. radio play and coverage in the UK music press, helping the band grow to over 5,000 monthly Spotify listeners. The project continues to expand its reach in 2025. “This project is about ceremony and opening portals to other dimensions of the self,” Bell says. Think dreamlike Americana, ancient rhythms, and explosions of sound and light. BLOODLINES/HOPE was released in June 2024 and continues to ripple outward in 2025.
