About
The Groove Family is a Funk/Soul band based in Madrid, founded in 2015 by Argentine guitarist Carlo Groove Lezcano and fronted alongside Dominican singer Jay Rivera (RASTAÍNO). Winners of the 2024 “Los Clinton” Award (Enlace Funk) for Best National Funk Band, their explosive live shows and community-driven message make them one of the strongest contenders in the Spanish funk scene. True music hustlers and “funk guerrilleros” with a powerful sound and stage presence that prioritizes audience connection, they’ve toured festivals across the country such as Enclave de Agua, Festival JazzMadrid, Imagina Funk, and more. In 2024, they released their LP Rough Shine (Extended Edition) on vinyl through their own label, Roughshine Records. Their appearance on Los Conciertos de Radio 3, several sold-out shows in Madrid, and a landmark concert at Café Berlín in March 2025 have cemented their steady rise and growing relevance in the national music scene.
