The Daylight
Brighton, England, United Kingdom
About
The Daylight is the solo project of singer-songwriter Jacob Chandler. Originally from the moors of Mid Wales and now based between Brighton and London, Jacob crafts introspective, emotionally-charged songs blending indie rock, shoegaze, and post-punk influences. Rooted in poetic lyricism and rich guitar-driven textures, The Daylight’s sound draws comparisons to artists like Turnover, The National, and The Cure. What began as a full band has evolved into a deeply personal project led solely by Jacob—every lyric, melody, and concept a reflection of his own journey through love, grief, identity, and change. Recent singles like "The Echo" and "Ghosts" showcase The Daylight’s sonic growth—recorded at Abbey Road Institute, Mixed at Strongroom Studios by Iggy B (Gary Human) and Mastered by Brett Shaw (FOALS, Florence + The Machine). These tracks carry a raw intimacy and atmospheric weight that resonate deeply with listeners. New music due to be released in 2025. For fans of: Turnover, The National, The Cure & Death Cab for Cutie.
