The Darters

About

The Darters are an indie-folk outfit that was formed in 2018 by singer-songwriter Brooks Neria in Joplin, Missouri. Originally intended as a recording project, the group began to solidify themselves as a live act in early 2021. The group released their first single later that year and followed up with two more in 2022 in anticipation of their first tour. The Darters are known for their diverse instrumentation, meticulously crafted lyrics, and expansive harmonies. The group owes their sound to the eclectic indie music scene of their hometown, Joplin, Missouri, and brings together a diverse group of musicians that draw influence from a wide range of genres to create a sonic presence that is all their own. Neria is known for his nomadic lifestyle, and often uses his travels as the scenes for The Darters' tales. In fact, while the Darters are Midwestern band at heart, the group currently operates out of Madrid, Spain. The Darters just released their first single in almost 2 years, Domestic Affairs, in anticipation of their debut LP.
