About
Tanya Lacey is a genre-blending artist, powerhouse vocalist, and seasoned composer with over 20 years in the music industry. Born and raised in Bristol, she began writing songs at 14 years old, drawing from R&B, hip-hop, and neo-soul influences. She first made waves as frontwoman of reggae band LaidBlak, lighting up stages from Glastonbury to Notting Hill Carnival. Her raw talent led to a solo deal with Sony RCA and songwriting credits for heavyweights like Will.i.am, Jennifer Lopez, and Basement Jaxx. Tanya’s voice and pen move fluidly across Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, D&B, EDM, and Soul. In 2017, she reached the semi-finals of The Voice UK and has since built an impressive career composing for TV, film, and global brands like Apple, Google, Sky, and Amazon Prime. Equally skilled as a lyricist and rapper, Tanya brings sharp wordplay, soulful delivery, and undeniable presence, whether she's singing heartfelt melodies or dropping fire verses. Her vocal approach is animated, bold, and playful, adding colour and character to every performance. Tanya’s sound is authentic, dynamic, and always evolving.
