About
From the vibrant heart of Mexico City, a new musical gem is making waves in the indie scene: Svnderland. Formed in 2024, this band promises to captivate your senses with a proposal that is both a journey to the past and a fresh perspective on the present. Drawing influences from the ’80s pop-rock of The Smiths and The Cure to the modern indie vibes of The 1975, Svnderland achieves something truly unique: evoking nostalgia while sounding entirely contemporary. Their sound, brimming with shimmering guitars and irresistibly catchy melodies, is complemented by lyrics that delve into melancholy and love with a sensitivity that instantly resonates. Svnderland feels like discovering that band you’ve always wanted to hear but didn’t know existed. Among their standout tracks is a heartfelt tribute to Slowdive with their rendition of “Alison,” a classic they reimagine with exquisite delicacy. But their true calling card is their debut EP, Tender, a conceptual work that embraces love in all its contradictions, from its brightest moments to its deepest shadows. And as if that weren’t enough, their latest single Flowers In My Head is a bold statement of style. Inspired by the theatricality of Pulp, the raw energy of The Primitives, and the irreverence of Billy Idol, this track encapsulates Svnderland’s daring spirit. If you’re looking for a new sound that speaks to your heart while inviting you to dance, Svnderland is waiting for you. - Mariana Núñez, Rock para el fin del mundo
