About
If you really want to know… Blitz was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. My previous emo-rock band was falling apart at the seams, which was such a bummer, but I still had all this stuff inside that needed to be expressed. My good friend and producer extraordinaire Ian (aka @weird fears) helped me bring Blitz to life, and it was a whole new level of excitement for me - this song actually rules!! and it’s not sad! Hahaha Some years of normal boring life stuff happened and then I woke up one day with this concept rattling around my head… this idea of a collection of songs coming together organically and without so much preconception; much more like a playlist than an album. I got to work sorting through old demos, seeking new ideas, listening for new sounds and inspiration. Eventually, I wound up with a batch of songs that sounds nothing like Blitz, and nothing like each other… Since each of these 5 songs are quite (radically?) different from one another, I decided the title of this collection should give some sort of perspective. Faucet Head is the culmination of my personal music journey over the last handful of years, wherein my perspective was changed - by Blitz. No genre, or even specific vibe or style, defines what comes to and thru me. Like water from the tap, if we allow it, ideas can come from anything, anytime, anywhere. That’s exactly what happened when it came to the writing and production of Faucet Head. Enjoy. -Clay, aka Sunbeam Tigers
