About
Love can lift us up, and love can bring us down. Jason found that out when everything came crashing down on a long, meaningful relationship that coincided with the disintegration of his band, Ticking Time Bomb, in 2019. But in heartbreak, we find rebirth, and in music, we find recovery. Strangers Forever is a product of that need to find better things in bad times. Jason joined forces with Benjamin Gerry and began writing new songs inspired by emotional hardship and a wrecked heart. They were soon joined in the ranks by bass player Jose Alvarado from local punk-scene mainstays Chuck Jones and guitarist Roberto Cascante. They were ready to start rehearsing, hit the studio, and then get on stage as soon as possible. But we all know what 2020 did to rock bands. Jose left for a tour as a chef in the Turks and Caicos Islands and was stuck overseas for months due to pandemic lockdowns, while live shows were banned until further notice. Slapped in the face with uncertainty and global chaos but determined to somehow make it work, Strangers Forever continued working on their songs remotely and record their album bit by bit whenever possible with producer Marcos Monnerat. Despite all the odds being against them, we are now in 2021, and they are still here, still working, and with their debut album almost ready to publish. A collection of songs that the band is proud to consider the product of heartbreak, depression, hope, necessity, and a hell of a lot of teamwork.
