About
Stephen Polanco (Born 1980) is better known by his lo-fi singer songwriter moniker Ssstephen! where he creates music that’s been described as "low-slung, lo-fi, post-rockabilly to synth-driven nugaze.” Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Polanco began recording music once he moved to New York City and later Boston, Ma. Early recordings were primarily ambient soundscapes sampling his own trumpet playing and piano. It was his time in Boston (2003-2010) where he cemented the sound he explores in his two EPs, Luuv and Many Faces.
