Spice Jar
Columbus, Ohio, United States
About
Punk-rock and a DIY, post-hardcore sound collide in two Columbus natives’ project, Spice Jar. Zack Elswick and Alonso Zavala write melancholy, introspective songs with music that still sounds happy (in true indie fashion), drawing influence from Title Fight, Surf Curse, and Dinosaur Jr. Spice Jar began as a side project in 2019 that became their main focus when they realized that they often finish each-other's musical sentences. They let the music speak for itself, using catchy guitar riffs and writing honest, straight-forward lyrics, a sound that would fit right into a basement show setlist with Real Friends, Mom Jeans, or The Front Bottoms.
