Spell Trouble
Berlin, Berlin, Germany
About
Berlin-based indie musician “Spell Trouble” blends catchy indie with an unpolished, nostalgic new wave sound and introspective lyrics, creating a dark yet familiar soundscape. Growing up in the alternative music scene of the late 2000s in East German and later moving to the electronic music melting pot Berlin has shaped his personal sound into an everlasting love for distorted guitar tones as well as surging synth sounds inspired by new wave bands of the late ‘70s and ‘80s. Nostalgic drum computers, like LinnDrums or the TR-808, and a love for flaws and imperfect details – as well as an unhealthy amount of delay and reverb – complement his arrangements and add a melancholic vibe.
