SMASHA MONOCLE
Leeds, England, United Kingdom
About
SMASHA MONOCLE are a hard-hitting duo based in Leeds, UK. Their blend of technical beats, ecstatic distortion and coarse vocals create a thick wall of sound, often juxtaposed with moments of eerie calm. With Leo on the mic and a fretless bass guitar and Rafi on the drums, SMASHA MONOCLE are somewhat comparable to other duo outfits like Lightning Bolt and Death From Above 1979, but their desire to fuse their inspiration from different genres (including noise, grunge, math rock, and jazz) makes them stand out in today’s crowd. They are incredibly unique, employing various styles and techniques to form what they call “Chaos Rock”. Re-emerging from the release of their raw 6-track debut EP ‘Dreadful Stuff’, SMASHA MONOCLE are returning to the stage with a fully-loaded chamber of new songs, sounds and visuals.
