Sid Simons
New York City, New York, United States
About
Fresh off the debut album under his own name, a west coast headline tour, and year-long occupation atop NYC’s indie rock scene, Sid Simons looks to take the hype on parade across North America in an ‘Escape From New York’ Tour alongside compatriots Monobloc and Catcher. Simons released his sparkling LP Beneath The Brightest Smiles in 2024, slickly fusing the folkier sensibilities reminiscent of Big Thief and Elliott Smith with the tendency to locate a nearby overdrive pedal and slip into singalong guitar anthems evoking the likes of David Bowie and Oasis. Backed by an eclectic band, Sid overtook some of NYC’s most storied venues and supported Franz Ferdinand and Modern English around the country in memorable live shows all year. His brand new EP - The Last American Valentine - is out in February, following the Screamadelica-esque lead single “The Lie”, which will be brought around North America and Europe in extensive touring this spring and summer.
