Shen Panthers

About

Hailing from the small surf town of Coolum Beach on the Sunny Coast, Shen Panthers bring a refreshing but nostalgic perspective to the Australian rock scene. Since their inception during lockdowns a few years ago, the Shennies have gone from a muck-around-jam-band to an expressive tune-writing machine known for dynamic and exciting live shows. When best mates Jake Kennerson, Pat Preston and Tom Brackley welcomed Alex Reichelt (formerly of Brisbane heavy hitters Take us to Vegas) to the band at the back end of 2022, they went from strength to strength musically and professionally, setting themselves lofty goals for 2023. “I knew as soon as I heard the first song they played live, I wanted to be a part of this band. They had something that other bands didn’t. I’m originally from the Coast so when I found out there was an opportunity to sit on that drum throne, I took it” - Alex Since then, Shen Panthers have found themselves overwhelmed with a sense of excitement for the music they’ve been cooking up in their beachside jam room. Influenced heavily by the music their parents listened to, Shennies infused rock sounds from every decade from the 60s through to today. Hard-hitting rhythms, drippy guitars and soulfully bluesy vocals combine nicely to give Shen Panthers a unique and tasty flavour amidst the rock revival currently happening in the music scene.
