After growing up surrounded by music in Jamaica, Shamar immigrated to Canada at the age of 11, where he was introduced to a diverse range of American and Canadian music by his cousin. Drawn to the sounds of various genres, including dancehall, reggae, soul, and church music, Shamar discovered his passion for music and began exploring his creative side. However, life took a turn when Shamar lost his cousin, who had been his biggest supporter and encourager in pursuing his dreams of music. Initially feeling unmotivated, Shamar realized that music was his outlet and salvation, and that he couldn't give up on his passion. With a deep desire to showcase his true self through his music, Shamar released his debut EP "Heartbreak Haven," which speaks to themes of love, betrayal, and heartbreak. In this EP, Shamar establishes his unique style and sound, setting the stage for future releases that he hints will demonstrate his versatility as an artist. Through his music, Shamar hopes to prove that he's not a one-dimensional artist, but rather someone who belongs with the greats. With more releases on the horizon, Shamar is determined to continue pursuing his dreams and making a name for himself in the music industry.
