About
Sean Hobbes & The Hi Res — forged in the heart of New Orleans but steeped in the soulful roots of Philadelphia — is the indie-soul collective that emerged from the pandemic with an unmistakable sound and unstoppable energy. What started as a lifeline during uncertain times coalesced into a full-fledged band whose music refuses easy labels. Their songs seize attention with soaring vocals, crisp guitar, and ethereal keys, all elevated by a dynamic horn section that embodies the band’s polished yet wildly free-spirited sound. They move through joy and intimacy with effortless grace—one moment delivering horn-driven, toe-tapping exhilaration, the next, intoxicating, slow-burn sensuality. Then comes the pop-infused punch, where brass meets propulsive grooves and melodies that stay with you long after the music ends. Backed by The Hi Res—Kevin Appelson (drums), Tristan Clark (bass), Dylan Nails (guitar), Mauricio Viana (keys & tenor sax), Aidan Swindell (baritone sax), and Avery Bell (trombone)—Sean Hobbes has assembled a brass-fueled ensemble that takes classic soul, frames it in modern light, and sets stages ablaze.
