About

CDs, tapes, t-shirts and long sleeve shirts now available at Naturmacht Shop and Bandcamp! Finno-Ugric Forest Metal by Zannibal (the main composer, guitarist and co-founder of Marrasmieli and the artist behind Paisaunt) Sammale ("moss" in Finnish and other Finnic languages) was founded in late 2021 as a one man side project. The debut album was written in a month and even includes some improvised playing. The goal was to have a chill, low-pressure project as a contrast to Marrasmieli. On the second album the project took a more serious direction with songs being more carefully composed. The result is a unique mix of Marrasmieli-style epic, melodic and atmospheric black metal combined with the doom and avantgarde style of the debut album. After the split-up of Marrasmieli the project has become the main focus of Zannibal. This will be reflected on the upcoming third album (to be released in 2025) with the songs being even more focused and carefully written as well as the production being stronger and clearer. Debut album tracklist translation: 1. Jo Hanki Haihtuu ("The Snow Disappears") 2. Sammal ("Moss") 3. Mehtän Kultainen Kuningas ("The Golden King of the Forest") 4. Köyry 5. Kalmanväki ("The Crowd of Death")
