About
Coming from the world of musical theatre, Rubin Matters steps into a new exploration of unapologetic pop music. Using songwriting as a form of therapy, Rubin started writing alongside his best friends with no intention of the music being shared anywhere else. Leaning into the songs to overcome fears, setbacks and heartbreak the writing process granted a fresh perspective that now feels right to share. With a deep love of the classic pop and R&B sounds of the 90s and early 2000s serving as inspiration, Rubin teamed up with producer Oscar Sharah to bring his hook-y and theatrical songs to life.
