About
Born and raised in Nashville, TN RobinAugust has been making her mark on Music City since ‘17. Following the hiatus of her all-girl rock band, Queens of Noise, RobinAugust released her first album, Avocado Head, to critical acclaim. Her sound stands in stark contrast to her contemporaries, providing a biting alternative in the age of “sad-girl indie”. Where others whisper, she screams. Sonically akin to the likes of Fiona Apple and Alanis Morrisette, with the sharp lyricism Nashvillians are known for, RobinAugust’s music is as bold as her name. Her songwriting, desperate and wild, answers the urgent desires of women her age: the need to be loved, to have control, to be known, and to be bold. After dropping out of Berklee College of Music to pursue music full-time, RobinAugust has held nothing back. Her brutal honesty and stage presence have caught the eye of fans and industry professionals alike; her recent performance opening for Jazmine Bean brought praise from the Nashville Scene, which describes her as “Cherie Curie incarnate … with flawless vocal technique and timeless rock ‘n’ roll energy.” With attitude and melodrama to spare, RobinAugust is bound for household recognition. - Zoë Dominguez
