About
“Quantum” is a blistering G-force journey with Rig 1 (Ian McElroy, founding member of <a href="spotify:artist:1H8myCcRyST1S5CcXNHiYM" data-name="Desaparecidos">Desaparecidos</a>) piloting the mother ship, your faithful Kafka-on-Ayahuasca tour guide. “Sometimes we’re blind to the signage of code, unfolding roads, boundless surrounds driving into unknown,” McElroy chants as the driving urgency of the track, produced by @mike bloom Mike Bloom (Jenny Lewis, Richard Edwards, Rilo Kiley) and programmed by Clark Baechle (The Faint), propels you forward. McElroy asks the listener, in the midst of it all, to open their eyes to the energy around them, to “go on the quantum,” perhaps alerting that, in fact, there is no pilot, there is only “Coherence. Let em feel it in the field.” “Quantum” is the first single from Rig 1’s forthcoming 3rd LP, following the self-released 2016 EP, “Tasting the Mothership.” The new LP will be Rig 1’s first release on <a href="spotify:artist:6iKiDPed4LAQEcPZpvf00m" data-name="Maria Taylor">Maria Taylor</a>' Flower Moon Records having previously been on the New Paltz, NY label Team Love. “He fashions intense narratives that straddle the line between independent hip-hop and spoken word, tackling existential questions with vivid wordplay, dramatic elocution and sometimes acid-tongued aplomb. It’s a modern take on the Beat Generation.” – BuzzbandsLA
