About
Recess is a Westchester, NY based band who started playing together their senior year at Hendrick Hudson High School. The quite literal garage band is made up of Grace O'Malley, Matthew DiLoreto, Nathan McLaughlin, and Tim Smith. In the summer of 2020, while playing multiple backyard concerts and sets around the area, they released their self titled yellow EP featuring seven original songs. During the pandemic, Recess did not stop and made new music releasing a new single with two original songs in the winter of 2021, a few months after their original EP release. Since then, they have been featured on WXCI 97.1 FM WestConn Radio in October. Some of their inspirations and personal favorites include: The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Neck Deep, Queen, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Tyler, the Creator, N.E.R.D., Neon Trees, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Spoon.
