About
Rawls Royce started like most bands worth a damn: a few disaffected grad students yelling Creed in a living room, high on theory and cheap beer. Now we’re older, marginally more employed, and slightly better at our instruments — but still yelling. Only now we’re yelling about something that matters. Across the Pyrenees is our upcoming concept album about the Canadian volunteers in the Spanish Civil War — the idealists, the misfits, the poor bastards who went off to fight fascism and got chewed up by history. It’s not nostalgia. It’s not cosplay. It’s an autopsy of hope. Set to riffs. We pull from the sugar-rush optimism of early 2000s punk and the punch-drunk rage of people who know the world’s on fire and still show up to play. It’s loud. It’s sincere. It’s probably not going to fix anything — but it remembers that others tried. Rock music for people who still believe in something, even if they’re not sure what it is anymore.
