About
hi! it’s lovely to see you!! i’m jasper :) i’m a 21 year-old folk punk/pop/whatever artist based in philadelphia, pennsylvania. growing up feeling like an outsider in guam, music was always a huge comfort to me. i hummed myself to sleep at 6 months old, started singing as soon as i could talk, learned piano at 8, started writing songs at 10, and eventually picked up ukulele, guitar, and bass in middle and high school. music became a way for me to connect with people and express the feelings that i could never properly express through words alone. i grew a following posting my original songs and doing animal parodies of Mitski’s ‘strawberry blond’ on tiktok, and found so much comfort in the fact that more people than i ever thought possible could relate to me through my little tunes. i’m in college right now — always good to have a backup plan — but i hope to make music into a full-time career and be able to continue to create music that you can cry AND bop your head along to (sometimes at the same time). if you’re here, reading this bio and listening to me sing, thank you so much! check out more of my music or grab some merch on ratwyfe.bandcamp.com or check out my socials for selfies, updates, memes, and behind the scenes looks at my music & influences: i’m @ratwyfe on everything!
