About
Ras Dave brings a bold revival of roots reggae with conscious riddims, heavy basslines, and truth telling lyrics for modern times. A lion from the ‘90s reggae scene, Ras Dave has returned with fire and focus, blending old soul with new sound. His first album, What A Gwan, reignited the spark with uplifting singles like Bright Day, Root of Evil, and Jah Oh Jah. Timeless messages wrapped in heavy one-drop grooves. The acoustic version of Bright Day is stripped the sound to its core: raw, soulful, and spiritual. Now Ras Dave returns with his most powerful work yet: War & Wisdom: a 15-track roots journey from the chaos of war to the healing of truth. Songs like Never Die, Zion Calling, John 6: Everlasting, and the title tracks War and Wisdom showcase deep spiritual themes, militant messages, and a heart fully grounded in Rastafari. Written over the past 25 years and mixed over countless sleepless nights, this album brings decades old lyrics and chords to life for the first time. As he likes to say "what’s old is new again." Follow Ras Dave to hear every release and feel the positive vibration of a reggae artist who never lost the fire.
