Poached is a Seattle-based indie rock duo, formed in the summer of 2024, comprised of Lilli Burgy and Mitchell Taylor. The pair initially crossed paths while bartending in Seattle’s Capitol Hill, working together in the service industry for years after connecting on the jobs-marketplace platform “Poached”. What began as shared hours behind the bar soon blossomed into a creative partnership, as the two started writing and making music together in their downtime. Inspiration opened quickly, and the momentum of their natural collaboration was undeniable. Drawing influences from Florence + The Machine, The National, and Wolf Alice, their music balances sweeping instrumentation with raw, introspective lyricism. The duo crafts songs that feel both grand and personal, where lush, atmospheric production meets stripped-back moments of vulnerability. Whether it’s the driving rhythm section on tracks like "Getting Older" or the hauntingly-tense, atmospheric soundscapes woven through their soon-to-come work, Poached has a way of pulling listeners into a world that feels vivid yet relatable. The sonic landscape often shifts between brooding, darkly introspective sections and cathartic, explosive choruses, mirroring the emotional highs and lows of the human experience.
