About
Born in Salem, MA to proud fathers Douglas DeMars, Patrick Lally, and Ryan Ladue. petal dance rose in early 2024 from the ashes of previous projects Lilac Queen, Bystander, and Gollylagging. Guitarists Moisse Gomez Reynoso and Steven Rodriguez joined in the following months to complete the group’s signature soundscape. Inspired by artists like Title Fight, Nothing, and Microwave, Petal Dance blends the ambience of shoegaze with the rhythmic and lyrical stylings of post-hardcore emo. The group recorded and released their debut EP, staring at the sun, in the latter half of 2024. Recording and production was guided by Chris Kobialka of KobiSound. petal dance will return in 2025 with their upcoming project, spellbook. - Ben Giunta
