About
Permanent Daylight are a new band based in Ipswich, Suffolk. All meeting at college in 2022 and starting a band in 2023, taking their name from a Radiohead B-side, they have since performed at several local music venues in the Ipswich and Suffolk area, going on to win their college's battle of the bands competition, securing a spot to perform at Ipswich Music Day, and beginning to write original music soon after. Their first single, Sleepless, which was fully self-produced and mixed, fared well locally, recieving play on BBC Introducing for Norfolk and Suffolk. The follow up singles, Fly and Catch the Drift, explored a more ambient and psychedelic sound, and led up to the eventual release of their full-length debut, Imitation on July 20th, 2024. Following this, Permanent Daylight issued an additional EP containing two B-sides recorded in the sessions for Imitation, as well as some acoustic versions of album tracks. This release run concludes their 2024 recording ventures and output, but they plan to regroup from university studies over Christmas and subsequent holidays to continue to work on more material, expanding their instrumentation and musical approach for a broader sound, with more releases to follow in the coming year. Permanent Daylight are Lynden Warren, Maisie Walker, Tom Lewis Lloyd, Milo Hawkes-Wright, Ella Omoregie, and Callum Smith.
