ONE HUNDRED THORNS - EST. 2018 Luc Anthony (Vocals, guitar) Phil Soule (Guitar) Will Boylen (Bass) Gavin Lavoie (Drums) When the pandemic reached a fever pitch in 2020, many artists and venues in Portland, Maine were stopped in their tracks. Many fought to stay relevant and keep their businesses alive. Others dismembered entirely. But during this dark time came a new wave of young, extremely bored musicians that had never had so much free time in their lives. Four High School students; Luc Anthony Puglionesi, Mason Landre, Will Boylen, and Gavin Lavoie rehearsed together almost daily - playing covers and original songs written primarily by Luc and Will. They called themselves ‘Haze’. As the scene slowly started opening up again, opportunities for shows began flowing towards them, and these four 16 year olds took every opportunity they could to play live. The years went by, hundreds of shows later, with a slight lineup change (Mason leaving the band and Phil Soule joining on guitar) AND a new band name… One Hundred Thorns has made quite a name for themselves in the Portland music scene and all over New England. Their debut album ‘Haze’ was recorded at Monaco Studios with Ethan Fowler and mixed by Karl Anderson at Anchour Studios.
