OJ Law

About

Lyrical late night nostalgia, bursts of house-infused pop, and Southeast Asian soul: OJ Law is the Kuala Lumpur-based musician / producer who does it all. OJ Law’s album All Filter was named one of NME’s Best Southeast Asian Albums of 2020, and his single Reissues was highlighted as a “Hidden Gem” of the year by Apple Music 1’s Matt Wilkinson. His previous album, Let’s Be Adult, launched him into a household name in Malaysia and made waves on radio. The hit singles Introverts and Tongue-Tied dialled up his love of disco, synth and 90’s pop, and saw his fanbase break into the mainstream. With influences ranging from Burt Bacharach to Daft Punk, OJ Law’s sound has evolved over the years. What remains true: his flair for distilling heartache into the catchiest hooks. Whether you’re lying down in the dark or trying to dance away your deepest fears, these songs will stay with you. “A lush neo-Britpop gem that wraps a funky, elastic synth line around a simple vocal melody which just keeps going and going in a way that only the best beats know how to” - Sputnik Music, on Introverts
