Monochromatics

About
Monochromatics is a high-energy pop punk/punk rock band hailing from Manitoba. Drawing inspiration from legendary acts like @Blink-182, @Green Day, @MXPX, @The Descendants, @Rancid, @Teenage Bottlerocket, and @NOFX, their sound is a nostalgic yet fresh take on the genre. Originally formed in 2006 under the name *Threw*, the band was founded by guitarist/lead vocalist Gustavo "Goose" Peters, bassist/backup vocalist Alejandro Penner, and drummer Matt Wiebe. After Matt’s departure in 2010, Chris "Swatter" Sawatzky stepped in as the new drummer, solidifying the band's rhythm. Lucas Wiens joined in 2012 as the lead guitarist, and after a decade of contributions, he passed the torch to Arlen Thiessen in 2022, who brought his talents as the new lead guitarist and vocalist. In 2017, the group rebranded as *Monochromatics*, marking the shift with their debut album *Out of Time*. Over the years, they’ve become a staple of the local music scene, playing at notable events such as the Bankside Music Festival and the Corn & Apple Festival, among many others. With a vibe that feels like a group of friends jamming in a basement, *Monochromatics*’ music is all about having a good time and enjoying the raw, unfiltered energy of punk rock
