Middle Management

About

Middle Management are an Australian post punk, art pop trio from Melbourne. Finding a middle ground between avant garde indie rock, minimalist pop and new wave romanticism, Middle Management’s music is a blend of down to earth, no frills, heartfelt catchiness. Raw, stripped back vocals create a natural ease so personable it forces you to listen. This combined with a driving instrumental energy and thought provoking lyrics really brings the post punk influence to the forefront.                         Their debut EP Caught Up in the Colours was a stylishly cinematic and experimental sound, capturing an indie, dream pop feel that brought this first release positive reviews, radio play and a sold out EP launch show. Years later and coming out of the other side of lockdowns, the 3 piece have further refined their identity within their sound and recorded two new singles. The first of these two releases is the single Exceptional. Exceptional captures the bands new direction and brings the raw, stripped back feel to the forefront in this catchy new song. Staccato guitars and driving drums pull you in right from the intro and the vocal verses capture a delicateness that effectively sets the scene and allows the song to open up in the chorus into a danceable, energetic number showcasing the bands pop sensibilities. With a second single set for release later in the year, it’s exciting times for Middle Management with 2024 bringing their most compelling, artistic work to date.
