About

Marcel Cabrera began recording music in his bedroom under the moniker “Marshal Man” in the summer of 2016. Having spent his childhood in Northern Mexico, he began attending college in Arizona, where he wrote his first EP “Birdwatching”. “Birdwatching” is collection of 5 songs, each as different as the next, tied together by a dreamy ambiance with delicate harmonies throughout. It didn’t take long after the release of “Birdwatching” for Marcel to recruit lifelong friend Ignacio Mondaca on guitars and keyboards, to round out the band’s live presence. Cabrera’s tastes originated from listening to a diverse palette of artists at a young age. This is transparently clear as he refuses to encapsulate his sound under one label, producing music that clearly draws from the Alternative, Dream Pop, New Wave, Shoegaze and Electronica genres. In late 2017, Marcel began early recordings of what would compile to be his second EP titled “More Often Than Not”. Expanding on his influences, Cabrera uses drum machines, synthesizers, and samples as well as conventional rock instrumentation to deliver a sound with infinite possibilities spanning every direction. “More Often Than Not” is set to release on October 19th, 2018.
