About
Maius Mollis is a singer-songwriter based in the Northeast of the UK making tracks into her early career. Lyrically, Maius Mollis doesn’t shy away from exploring emotional complexities. Brutal self-reflection, reverberating family dynamics, and relationships that end with no concrete answers drift through her songs. All this and more is translated via gutting vocal melodies, sculpted atop Maius Mollis’s distinctive finger-picked guitar style. Her reference points vary widely: from the gentle darkness of atmospheric indie acts like Ben Howard and Daughter, to the lyrical landscapes painted by folk artists like James Taylor and Joni Mitchell, to the unabashed and full-hearted emotion of pop stars like Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift. 2023 promises to be Maius Mollis' busiest year yet, with several successful funding bids including support from Arts Council England and Youth Music. She announces her new single 'Feel It Hard' out 14th April 2023, which will be one part of a five track EP planned to release in October 2023. “standout debut from a promising new voice” – Echoes and Dust on ‘The Tide Turned’ “offers a contemporary folk of brilliant colours… quietly golden” – NARC.
