Kevin McDonald, former software engineer, needed to take a chance. He grew up a child of the 80s, believing he'd live a life centered around music. His pragmatism ended up getting the best of him, and he left the arts behind and focused his obsessive nature onto tech. But decades later, after a fulfilling career, he's exploring the path not taken from his Denver, Colorado home. His solo project "Levers" is the culmination of five decades of a life where his love of music took a backseat to life's practicalities, but never left his heart or mind. His music - with its layered synths, quirky chord progressions, and subdued vocals - evokes feelings of nostalgia, even among generations much younger than his own. Kevin loves the opportunity to expand his mind by attempting to take on every aspect of releasing music - from writing and recording, to producing and engineering and mastering, to creating the album art. "You don't know if you don't try. I needed to know." is the perfect summation of his catalog. His debut album "Disconnected" has a wide array of styles represented within it, and each subsequent release only further demonstrates his desire to try different things. But the common thread running through these songs is his heartfelt yearning to make up for time lost. Whether seeking an upbeat moment, or a quiet reflection, Levers would love to find a space in your life to help you through whatever today may bring.
