Laverge

About

Laverge (Valencia), the band that walks the razor’s edge, that managed to grab everything they could from QOTSA’s dressing room at Madcool, and that crashed headfirst into the pandemic at the peak of their career after returning from playing in the U.S. is made up of Aitor Mateu, Ignacio Aznar and Victor Moya. Laverge is part of the desert rock wave, characterized by distorted bass, a heavy groove, melodic vocals, and a retro production style. But it doesn’t stop there. Laverge incorporates elements they are passionate about—both in sound and content—from other scenes such as Washington’s post-hardcore, England’s post-punk and electrified pop-rock, and the bands released by Bcore in the ’90s and early 2000s. They connect these influences with audiences of national bands like Bala, Viva Belgrado, Belako, and Toundra. Laverge released their second LP, Who is there to beat the ego?, in April 2023 through Carcosa Records, Spinda Records, and Quebranta Records.
