About
Ōtepoti-based dark-folk/chamber-pop band. Laney Blue draws their wide range of influences from NZ musicians Finn Andrews, Marlon Williams, and Trick Mammoth, as well as from further abroad with Andrew Bird and Nick Cave. Formed at the beginning 2017 by Olive Butler and Nick Tipa, Laney Blue welcomed fellow Ōtepoti musicians Zac Nicholls and Jeremy Clark to their ranks at the end of that year. This was followed by a hiatus from 2018-2021 as Tipa moved to Naarm, Australia. Following his return, Laney Blue released their debut album 'Dreamer Too' at the end of 2021, with a NZ tour to come soon afterwards.
